NABOISHO CONSERVANCY
Naboisho Conservancy is a private wildlife conservancy in the Greater Mara Ecosystem in southwestern Kenya. It is adjacent to the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve and covers an area of approximately 20,000 hectares (50,000 acres). Naboisho, which means "coming together" in the Maasai language, was established in 2010 as a community-led conservation initiative. Naboisho Conservancy is known for its commitment to wildlife conservation, sustainable tourism, and community development. The conservancy is managed in partnership with the local Maasai community, and a significant portion of the conservancy fees and tourism revenue goes directly to supporting community projects and improving livelihoods. One of the critical objectives of Naboisho Conservancy is to protect and conserve wildlife and their habitats. The conservancy is home to diverse wildlife species, including elephants, lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and various antelope species. It is also a vital corridor for the annual wildebeest migration between the Maasai Mara National Reserve and the Loita Plains.
