AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
Overview
Amboseli National Park is a renowned wildlife conservation area located in southern Kenya, near the border with Tanzania. It covers an area of about 392 square kilometers (151 square miles) and is famous for its breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, which lies just across the border in Tanzania. The park was established in 1974 to protect the diverse wildlife and ecosystem of the Amboseli region, which consists of open grasslands, swamps, and acacia woodlands. One of the park's iconic features is the expansive Amboseli Marsh, a seasonal wetland that attracts a variety of wildlife. Amboseli National Park is best known for its large herds of elephants. The park is home to over 1,000 elephants, making it one of the best places in Africa to observe these majestic creatures up close. Other commonly spotted animals include lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, and various antelope species.Sights
